Graven feels like a new endavour, a new colour in the Vil spectrum.
The title of the song refers to the name of a street in the oldest part of Aarhus, while Lovis' lyrics are an observation of a fresh breath of spring, filling out a body, worn out after a long winter.
The addition of drums (played by the great Magnús Trygvason Eliassen, recorded and mixed by dear friend Árni Hjörvar, mastered by the wonderful Katie Tavini) is a rare occasion for us, but one we felt very excited about when writing this song.
The collaboration on this piece is a video by our dear friend and longtime collaborator Klāvs Liepiņš.
It's such a blessing to work with him and see how our works inspire each other.
Klāvs wrote a few words on the video, that we would like to share with you: “Loneliness as well as happiness varies in its form and nature. In the music video Graven, the character portrays those differences, revolving his existence around his inner liberation of post-Soviet generation gender conventions."
